Prints — As an artist, I try to capture the fragile, the moment, the glimpse. My constant inspirations are the physical forces of nature in general, and the human form in particular. In monotype the tactile connection with the ink and plate give me a visceral pleasure that fuels my image-making. I build up texture, line and form, preferring to work quickly to capture the energy of my hands and mind. With monotype I have the freedom to move deftly, finding freshness and dynamism in many directions.
